A: The mantel is supplied as a floating shelf beam with concealed fixing options. It is suitable for solid brick, plasterboard and timber walls. Our workshop team will advise on the best fixing method and safe heat clearances for your wall type.
Q: Is this suitable to go above a log burner?
A: Yes, our chunky solid oak mantels are extremely popular above log burners. As with all solid wood mantels, you must maintain the correct clearance from the heat source as per your stove manufacturer's guidelines. Contact us and we will advise on safe distances and ideal beam depth for your setup.
Q: How should I maintain the oak finish?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh chemicals. Re-apply a high-quality clear furniture wax or oak oil every 6 to 12 months to nourish the timber and protect its finish.
